Giacosa is an authentic piece of Florentine history. more than a bar, it's a cornerstone of Italian cocktail heritage. Founded in 1860 by the Giacosa brothers, the café emerged during a time when Via Tornabuoni was the vibrant heart of the city's cultural and social life. It quickly became a favourite meeting place for international travellers and local tastemakers alike. Its most enduring legacy was sealed in 1919, when Count Camillo Negroni ordered an Americano with gin - giving birth to the now-iconic Negroni cocktail, right here at Caffè Giacosa.
Giacosa: The Return of a Symbol
Though the original venue closed its doors in 2017, Giacosa was recently reborn in a new space just a few steps from its historic home. The revived venue draws inspiration from its past, with interiors influenced by archival photography, blending timeless elegance with a contemporary spirit.
Beyond Tradition : a New Landmark for Mixology
Today, Giacosa is once again a destination for cocktail lovers. At the bar, a new generation of bartenders celebrates the Negroni's roots while reinterpreting Italian mixology through a refined, modern lens. With a focus on quality, innovation and a deep respect for tradition, Giacosa honours Florence's role in cocktail history - and continues to shape its future.
