"Greek Hospitality Heroes" is an initiative to provide meaningful support for the growth of the hospitality community in Athens and across Greece while making a lasting impact.

Hospitality workers in Greece face particularly stressful and high-paced working conditions, especially during the bustling summer season. This often leads to a sense of exhaustion that can be overwhelming and negatively impact various aspects of their lives, sometimes without them realizing it. Hospitality workers are the backbone of tourism and are among the hardest-working individuals in the world, particularly in Greece. According to Eurostat, Greece ranks at the top in terms of weekly working hours in Europe, and one out of four Greeks work in the tourism industry. They usually have no days off.

To address this critical issue, we have decided to take action and create this initiative with one goal in mind: to provide meaningful support for the growth of the hospitality community while making a lasting impact. We have partnered with bars in our neighbourhood, in the heart of Athens, as well as with bars across Greece, to develop a special cocktail. A portion of the revenue from this cocktail will fund the creation of interactive studios.

These studios will be open to hospitality workers and the community, offering a space to hear from Occupational Health Specialists, Mindfulness Trainers, and Wellness Coaches. These experts will share successful initiatives and practices to help the hospitality industry combat exhaustion. Additionally, on each bottle of this special drink, there will be a QR code leading to our Instagram account, GreekHospitalityHeroes. We invite hospitality workers to scan the QR code to access well-being advice and seek help with issues that may occur.

Organizing seminars and creating a safe digital community for hospitality industry members can greatly benefit both the community and the well-being of industry professionals. I firmly believe that initiatives like these can significantly impact the longevity and resilience of the hospitality industry. By blending the seminars with easy access to support via the QR code on our special drink, we aim to provide continuous and accessible assistance for all hospitality workers.
