Review

65&King aims to recall 'the heady glamour of American Deco' and indeed, on entering this cocktail bar you do feel as though you've crossed the pond from London to Manhattan.

Décor is industrial Americana, (think zinc-topped bar, wrought iron stools and neon signs) yet with warmer and more stylish touches such as an open fireplace, vintage glassware and other antique cocktail paraphernalia dotted around. There are a few stools up at the bar as well as an open area to the side, with high wooden tables and red banquette seating.

The cocktail selection is comprehensive and creative. Mini appetizer cocktails are an appealing way to start with the option to try one or enjoy a flight of all three. There are in-house creations or classics with a twist, and, if you are in the mood to share, the XXXKing specials are available for two or four people. Cocktails were all perfectly balanced and very tasty. The Bloody King Mary being a particularly delicious take on the classic. There is also a wide range of sparkling, red, white, rose and dessert wines to choose from.

Comforting American style staples dominate the food menu with burgers, surf and turf and bourbon infused rack of ribs on offer to stave off hunger. We found 65&King a welcome addition to W2.
