Weber Ranch is one of the first vodkas distilled from Blue Weber Agave, a plant more usually associated with tequila
The initial process to make Weber Ranch Vodka starts in Jalisco, Mexico, with the same methods used to produce tequila. Blue Weber agave is harvested at peak maturity when five to seven years old, and crushed and fermented, then distilled in a column still to 80% alc./vol. The resulting distillate is reduced to 55% before being transported to the Weber Ranch distillery in Muenster, Texas.
The final processes in Texas are overseen by Master Distiller Antonio Rodriguez (formerly Patrón Tequila's Production Director). Here, the agave distillate is redistilled in proprietary copper pot and column stills. It is then blended with water from the local Trinity Aquifer, filtered and bottled.
Weber Ranch Vodka is additive-free.
Weber Ranch Vodka's founders are also a team formerly associated with tequila, as they were the founders and marketiers behind Patrón Tequila (Lee Applbaum, Ed Brown, John Paul DeJoria, and Dave Wilson, as well as Brad Vassar, who was formerly with Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits). With the help of Antonio Rodriguez, they certainly know how to make a great spirit and have the experience to sell it to the world.

Crystal clear.
As you'd expect from an unflavoured vodka, the nose is fairly neutral, with white pepper ethanol spice being most obvious. However, beyond this lie delicate vanilla, white chocolate, thyme and sage.
Superbly clean. The entry is faintly sweet before drying ethenol spice explodes, followed by an almost creamy mouthfeel carrying white chocolate, green apple, vanilla, papaya and sweet cinnamon.
More toasty notes emerge on the surprisingly long finish.
Without knowing this vodka was made from agave I don't think you'd be able to guess that from the taste. As for its appeal, there will be some wanting to avoid gluten and therefore grain who don't realise that all distilled spirits are gluten free, even those distilled from grain. Ignoring its base and assessing purely for its taste, then Weber Ranch Vodka does appeal. It has a distinctive character, creamy mouthfeel and pleasing dedicate notes of white chocolate and vanilla.
