Launched in 2007, Dalmore 15 year old is initially matured 12 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being finished for a further three years in three different sherry casks: Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso. These are then blended and married in a sherry butt prior to bottling.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 22/01/2016

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Old leather, linseed oil, nuts, wood varnish and Christmas cake with chocolate, red apple, potpourri, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Water amplifies cinnamon, chocolate and biscuity notes.

Taste:

Medium-bodied with an almost creamy mouthfeel. Buttery, old leather, brown bread and spice with orange zest, chocolate, chicory and ginger. Drier with water – bready spice.

Aftertaste:

Nutty brown bread, chicory coffee and ginger.

Overall:

Winter spice, nutty brown bread, chocolate and zesty orange.
