Made from the wine of Ugni Blanc grapes, 70% distilled using single column distillation and 30% double distillation. The grapes used by Maison Samalens come exclusively from Bas Armagnac (mostly from the grand Bas Armagnac), on the border between the Gers and Landes. Read more

Appearance

Clear, deep golden amber.

Aroma

New leather, sultana, figs, roasted almond, vanilla, brazil nuts, dried apricot, cedar wood and zesty tangerine orange.

Taste

Christmas cake, sultana, passion fruit, brazil nuts, spicy oak and lavender with red apple.

Aftertaste

Sultana, raisin, nutmeg and mild clove spice with faint lavender and red apple skin

Overall

An easy, quaffable, value for money armagnac with good fruity character, lavender and red apple.
