Launched in July 2012, its makers claim this to be the first salted caramel flavoured vodka. It is the second in Stolichnaya's line of "indulgent" flavours after Stoli Chocolat Razberi, released in 2011.

To quote Stoli, "Caramel is produced by heating cane sugar until the sugar transforms into the distinctive caramel taste. Chewy caramel candy is made by cooking caramelized sugar along with cream, butter and vanilla to form a rich indulgent treat. For Stoli Salted Karamel, we extract the most flavourful components of caramel candy and combine them with sugar and a hint of salt to create the ultimate indulgent flavoured vodka."

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 19/10/2014

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Pungent caramel, buttery fudge, vanilla and fairground candyfloss.

Taste:

Full-flavoured, slightly sweet and spicy. Prominent caramel as promised but with hot spicy notes dominating the saltyness.

Aftertaste:

Salt is more obvious in the spicy caramel finish. We can see this being being a popular shot.
