Appearance:

(bottled 04-Dec-12) Clear, deep chestnut – almost black with thin beige head and spotted lacing.

Aroma:

Bready, yeasty and slightly dungy with raisins and slight nutmeg.

Taste:

Chocolate and coffee flavoured nut loaf with molasses, cinnamon and cracked black pepper spice. Notes of bitter tobacco ash and liquorice.

Aftertaste:

Pronounced liquorice with toasty malt and ash.
