Wheat beer was once only made by Bavarian royal family breweries but King Ludwig II ended this when sales declined. Georg I Schneider purchased the exclusive right to sell wheat beer and it is this Bavarian wheat beer, known as Original, dates from this period and is made according to an 1872 recipe

Appearance:

(sample best before 20-Feb-13) Cloudy, deep amber with a one-finger thick off-white head and little lacing.

Aroma:

Doughy bread, overripe banana and yeast with clove, nutmeg, ripe apricots and orange marmalade.

Taste:

Clove and baguette crust with cracked black pepper and orange zest.

Aftertaste:

Apricot fruit and clove spice with zesty orange.
