Review and Tasting

Sampled on 08/09/2013

Appearance:

Clear, mid to deep golden.

Aroma:

Smoked kippers and coal dust with vanilla, cocoa, clove and overripe honeyed banana.

Taste:

Subtle underlying vanilla sweetness eases the brutality of the smoky peat, tar, clove, ginger and cracked black pepper spice. Water amplifies the peppery spice so I’d keep the water on the side.

Aftertaste:

Long, smoky clove spice with lingering dark chocolate.
