Aged in American oak ex-bourbon casks before being divided and re-casked into 25 year old sweet Palomino Fino sherry butts and 1980 first-fill bourbon casks. The whiskies are then married together in ex-bourbon barrels before finally being transferred for finishing in Portuguese ex-tawny port pipes.

The Dalmore 25 Year Old was released as a permanent addition to the core Dalmore range on 25th October 2013.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Deep, coppery golden amber.

Aroma:

Linseed oil rubbed leather, marzipan, vanilla, dried apple and mango with faint liquorice and coffee fudge.

Taste:

Rich and honeyed with candied orange peel, liquorice, dried fruit/fruit cake and amontillado sherry.

Aftertaste:

Sweet maple syrup, dried apricot, golden syrup and honey with candied ginger and white pepper spice. This malt is a real sweetie.
