Ron Cubay rums are made from fermented Cuban sugar cane molasses and distilled in a column still. Two different rums are made and then blended together after being separately aged, an 'aguardientes' which leaves the still at 75% alc./vol and a 'superfine' at 95.5% alc./vol..
Cubay rums are aged in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels which are re-charred on the island.
