This herbal liqueur is said to have been made by the Borgmann family for over 100 years. The family traces its origins as court apothecaries back to 1772 and their appointment as official purveyor to the court by the Duke of Brunswick, Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand. Read more

Appearance

Clear, deep coppery amber with bronze glints.

Aroma

Eucalyptus, pine cones, bark, cloves and elderflower with star anise, liquorice and mint.

Taste

Initial syrupy sweetness is quickly dried by an explosion of herbal spice and bitter bark/quinine with clove, cinnamon, pine and liquorice.

Aftertaste

Warming clove, cinnamon and liquorice. Very Christmasy in flavour.
