A blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Macabeo, 20% Parellada and 10% Pinot Noir grapes, the name Elyssia is derived from the Latin 'Elysium', meaning heavenly or a state of perfect bliss.
Sampled on 17/08/2015
Clear, pale golden with fast moving small bubbles.
Apple pie and dried pineapple with yeasty notes, buttery croissant and acacia flowers.
Well-balanced acidity, zesty lemon freshness, yeasty buttery biscuit and overripe pineapple.
Relatively short zesty lemon and de-hydrated pineapple finish.
Beautifully presented in a very shapely bottle, on the palate this ‘branded’ sparkling wine is equally attractive, as its price. Lemon freshness, buttery bakery notes and pineapple feature throughout.
