Review and Tasting

Sampled on 16/11/2015

Appearance:

(sample bottle batch 2, No. 76 of 600) Clear but not bright, light rose-golden amber.

Aroma:

Piney juniper with nutty woodiness.

Taste:

Dry and spicy. Strong juniper and newly sawn pine tannins with black tea, cracked black pepper spice and calamine floral notes.

Aftertaste:

Dry, black pepper spiced piney juniper.

Overall:

Dry wood tannins from cask aging dominate this spicy old tom, masking subtle notes from botanicals such as rose. Perhaps too long in cask.
