Review and Tasting

Sampled on 02/02/2016

Appearance:

(sample distilled 2011 and bottled 02/Dec/15) Clear, pale golden amber.

Aroma:

Light wafts of peaty smoke, cereal and mild spice with faint milk chocolate. Water amplifies bready cereal aromas.

Taste:

Initially sweet cereal quickly dries as smoky, lightly peaty and spicy notes take over. Subtler corn-on-the-cob, chocolate, nougat and caramel. Benefits from a splash of water which integrates, sweetens and mellows.

Aftertaste:

Long, smoky, faintly salty finish with cinnamon and black pepper spice.

Overall:

Youthful and exuberant but with pleasing bready cereal and smoky peat unimpeded by oak.
