Named after the last King of Ireland Brian Boru (Rí is an ancient Gaelic word for King). Brú Rí is brewed with Irish Pale and Munich Malt, Goldings, Citra, Summit and Cascade hops. The brewers say, “Ths IPA is a crisp refreshing bitter ale, with a blast of citrus, pine and floral scents on the nose”
Sampled on 31/07/2016
Hazy, deep amber with thin but retentive ivory white head and light lacing.
Bready malt, pine and orange peel.
Caramel and brown bready malt, assertive but not overpowering bitter piney hops with some grassy notes, zesty orange and light earthiness.
Dry and bready with earthy lightly bitter pine and orange marmalade.
Heavy and bready with hop notes that are assertive but perhaps a tad subdued for an IPA.
