The 2,500 acres of Laverstoke Park Farm and the parkland at Laverstoke are certified as biodynamic by Demeter and is classed as organic by the Soil Association. Although this larger is brewed and bottled at Hepworth Brewey, Horsham, the barley and hops used are grown at Laverstoke Park Farm.

Jody Scheckter is an organic/biodynamic smallholder who has turned his Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire into something of a River Cottage, selling a wide range of products from his farm shop and now selling Laverstoke Park branded food and drinks through UK supermarkets.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 10/08/2011

Appearance:

Clear, golden yellow with medium white head.

Aroma:

Clean lightly toasted bread with floral hoppy aromas, a touch of honey, galia melon and a zest of lemon.

Taste:

Beautifully balanced, moderately bitter, toasty/biscuit with dry herbal hoppy flavours and a pinch of saltyness.

Aftertaste:

Lingering bitterness adds to the thirst-quenching nature of the slightly herbal, lingering finish. It is indeed a 'real' lager.
