Vodka infused with three types of tea: Sencha from Japan, Keemun from China and Assam from India. Kakuzo is named after scholar Okakura Kakuzo, who in his 1906 The Book of Tea explained to the Western world the secrets of Japan, Zen Buddhism, Taoism and the art of tea preparation.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 31/01/2019

Appearance:

Clear, deep tawny amber.

Aroma:

Black tea leaves and delicate white pepper.

Taste:

Bone dry with bitter black tea tannins and a strong black tea flavour with notes of Earl Grey.

Aftertaste:

Black tea, dry bitter tannins and light white pepper spice.

Overall:

Dry and bitter tea tannins scream for sugar in this tea infused vodka. Perhaps an interesting/useful cocktail ingredient but we can’t help thinking the tea in this vodka has been over infused so making it overly tannic.
