Review and Tasting

Sampled on 01/10/2019

Appearance:

Slight haze (but almost opaque), deep chestnut brown. (sample bottle 0081, batch 0121)

Aroma:

Freshly roasted coffee beans and faint treacle.

Taste:

Strong cold brew coffee with light nuttiness and just enough sweetness to balance natural bitterness. Cinnamon flavour (part of the recipe) is evident but only if you look for it – this is far from being cinnamon-spiced.

Aftertaste:

Long finish with chocolate notes emerging.

Overall:

Low in alc./vol. strength compared to other coffee liqueurs and noticeably thinner on the palate as a result. However, the coffee flavour is very good with delicate nut, chocolate and cinnamon notes, and the sugar balance is spot on.
