Bitter Araucano is a Chilean herbal dark bitter liqueur which is exported (most notably to Germany) as Bitter Brusco. It is made in the Chilian port city of Valparaiso where Virgilio Brusco Castagnino, an Italian immigrant, founded his Tres Torres distillery in 1905.

The recipe for Bitter Araucano came into the possession of the Brusco family in 1960 from a German immigrant called Fritz Hauser.
