Review and Tasting

Sampled on 22/11/2021

Appearance:

Clear, burgundy red.

Aroma:

Hibiscus and red berries with a note reminiscent of Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Taste:

Rich red berry with balancing tart acidity.

Aftertaste:

Redberry fruit with lingering acidity.

Overall:

Essential for making the classic Artist's Special Cocktail, 1883's redcurrant syrup doesn't compete with my homemade version but making your own is a faff and limited by seasonal availability. Hence, this is a handy alternative.
