Made with a maceration and distillation of roasted Ethiopian coffee beans grown at an altitude of 2,000 metres, Djebenah Buna liqueur takes its name from jebena buna, the name of the Ethiopian coffee ceremony in the local Amharic language.
Discovered in October 2022 at Bar Convent Berlin (BCB).
Sampled on 28/10/2022
Clear, deep brown (almost opaque).
Pungent deep-roasted coffee with faint dark chocolate and bonfire embers.
Dark-roasted, slightly bitter coffee perfectly balanced by just enough sugar. Hints of smoky dark chocolate.
Long, roasted coffee finish.
Difficult to pronounce perhaps, but this excellent coffee liqueur has an intense deep-roasted coffee flavour and just enough sugar so fairs well when sampled against other leading coffee liqueurs.
