A single-grain Irish whiskey matured in rechar and virgin American oak barrels with a final aging period in Italian Sangiovese casks.

Named after Gerald FitzGerald, 8th Earl of Kildare KG ( 1456-1513), known as "The Great Earl" (An tIarla Mór), he was Ireland's premier peer and served as Lord Deputy of Ireland from 1477 to 1494, and from 1496 onward.
