This blended (vatted) malt Scotch whisky is named after its peaty palate, representative of the character of whiskies from the Islay.
Sampled on 15/08/2011
Clear, golden yellow.
Salty, sea air influenced nose with chargrilled corn-on-the-cob.
Given the name it seems too obvious to say, but the palate is indeed reassuringly peaty. Vegetal flavours with dry bonfire smoke, old oak and faint Battenberg cake.
Smoky, overdone-chargrilled vegetal finish.
