Launched in September 2011, originally as a travel retail exclusive, Metaxa 12 Stars is a blend of three ingredients:

1) A double pot still distilled brandy made from wine produced from Savatiano, Soultanina and Koritnthiakos grape varieties and aged in both medium and heavily toasted Limousin oak casks for both medium and heavily toasted oak casks for more pronounced oaky and smoky notes.

2) Aged aromatic Muscat wines from the hand-tended and hand-picked terraced vineyards on the semi-mountainous slopes of Mount Ambelos on the Aegean Islands of Samos.

3) an infusion of Mediterranean herbs and May rose petals.

The final blend is married in oak barrels for one year before being chill-filtered and bottled.
