Meister Hunter Competition
Words by Sammy Hemmings
Jägermeister's Meister Hunter cocktail competition challenges UK bartenders to get creative at home while demonstrating flair and a sense of fun for their chance to win grand cash prizes.
This year's Meister Hunter adapts its competition and gives bartenders the opportunity to compete from home with cash prizes up for grabs, the largest being the prize fund of £3,000.
To enter Meister Hunter, create a unique recipe and a video of you creating your cocktail - creativity will be awarded so it's time to think outside of the box! Entries will be accepted until 17 May 2020.
The ten bartenders who best demonstrate creativity, flair and a sense of fun will be selected to compete in the final which will take place later in May 2020 (exact date to be announced). Plus, there will be fifteen £100 cash prizes awarded to the best and most creative videos.
The finalists will each receive a locked mystery box closer to the date of the grand final filled with ingredients. On the day of the final, the competitors will receive a code to unlock their box - they can use any of the ingredients inside to create their final Jägermeister cocktail.
"This year we were faced with a challenge that we never could have anticipated, but it was important for us to move forward with the Meister Hunter competition and create a platform that would support the bartender community," says Florian Beuren, the Mast-Jaegermeister UK Brand Ambassador.
How to enter
Mix up a unique cocktail at home with Jägermeister and shoot a video of you making your creation to enter Meister Hunter 2020.
Entries can be made either on Instagram or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
UK bartenders have until Friday 17 May to submit their entry and must include the cocktail's name, ingredients and measurements.
Three prizes are up for grabs for the top three bartenders in the competition:
1st place - £3,000
2nd place - £1,500
3rd place - £500
Plus, fifteen £100 cash 'spot' prizes up for grabs to the most creative videos.
Get mixing at home, have fun and best of luck to all.
Florian Beuren adds, "We hope that the competition provides bartenders with some cocktail inspiration and a creative distraction from the current situation. We will also be utilising our Hubertus Circle members to serve as mentors and help communicate the message within the on-trade community, encouraging bartenders to take part and lift spirits."
