This cocktail was nicer in my imagination than in reality. Perhaps I need to try different gins and vermouths before I give up on it, but my general impression is that it's too sweet and lacks in acidity. For my taste, I'd rather shake it up and add some lemon juice and hold back a bit on the benedictine, although that's suddenly a different cocktail.
