Quite cloying and sweet - a nice after dinner cocktail, with some stiffness from the bourbon. I used Heering (not kirschwasser), as it seemed in line with the intent of the recipe. It is a translucent brown, not really visually attractive. I think this might work better in an old-fashioned glass with some ice, to gradually dilute the sweetness.
