Always played around with the use of strawberry, mint, and lime with vodkas but found that the stronger flavour of a half decent bourbon really lends itself...

Why would you need to clap the mint if you're going to shake it with the ice?
Sounds like a cup of ice would more than likely fill the highball glass, where is this extra ice supposed to go?
Sounds intriguing though, I'll give it a try.
