Fair warning for any citizens of the USA, as of this writing:
Buy your souvenir clay genever bottle in Amsterdam BEFORE getting to the "duty free" shop at Schiphol. You want it to travel in your CHECKED baggage, not in your carry-on.
Carry-on baggage will be scanned AGAIN after one passes through Customs, and **opaque bottles** cannot be tested, and so they will not be allowed.
