I think the italicus gets buried a bit in this combo by the amaro… and, as others have noted, it’s sweeter than the dryness guide indicates.

I love everything in this cocktail but unfortunately they didn't play together too well, though I do find montenegro/nonino heavy cocktails to be generally underwhelming (but I love it as a background flavor).

This cocktail has a lovely overall flavour, but I’m afraid it’s just too sweet to be great.

I didn't have Montenegro so substituted with Averna, reduced the ratio a bit but still find it overpoweringly sweet. May have to adjust the ratio some more for my own tastes...
