A father & son business

The business story starts in 1980 when Richard Andrews left a London retail job at Heals and Liberty to start Andrews Parke & Co, supplying speciality glassware to the whisky market, where it became a main supplier to the spirits industry. Richard was joined by his son Nick in 1996 who after having the opportunity to visit a few distilleries decided working in the drinks industry looked a lot more exciting!

After Urban Bar was born the father and son duo moved away from supplying and into designing and creating quality glassware. In 2017 a Rotterdam office was opened with Maarten De Kok who was able to add considerable experience to the team.

The company now supplies many international brands, bars and hotels across the world and works with expert mixologists and professionals within the spirits industry to create on-trend styles. Every glass is manufactured either by machine or hand in Europe.

Bespoke

Largely seen as the top glass and barware Point of Sale specialists Urban Bar supplies a large number of the industry's spirits producers. Their designs are 'made up to a standard, not down to a price'. They provide bespoke glass, barware & branding services allowing brands to create unique glasses and barware products tailored to their needs and style. Innovation is an important factor in Urban Bar's ethos so year-round they work to improve their range and introduce new and daring products that test the limit of what is possible within glass and barware.

In 2023, Urban Bar invested in a state-of-the-art in-house printing machine, this uses the latest technology, whereby print inks are cured using a burst of ultraviolet light which is both completely food safe and environmentally friendly. Traditional glass decoration involves heating the glass up to over five hundred degrees over a 2-3 hour process. This gives them greater speed and flexibility, whilst at the same time being able to manage costs and reduce their carbon footprint.

Environment & Sustainability

Urban Bar is a Carbon Neutral Plus company which offsets 125% of its Carbon Footprint each year. All their own label items are carbon neutral to the consumer and this can also be applied to any other products. They use plastic-free, biodegradable packaging and can offer 100% recycled glasses or up to 50% recycled plastic items with all products being 100% recyclable.
