Having tried amer picon this summer, the closest thing to it i found in the US is an Italian orange liqueur, Amara Sicilian Blood Orange Liqueur. this has more alcohol content (30) but the taste of slightly bitter burnt orange was there. i didn't try the Amaro CioCiarro yet, though. the American "Amer Dit Picon" might be produced according to the original recipe, but it hasn't much in common with the present day version, and i couldn't figure out how to make a drinkable Brooklyn with it.
