Review

If you fancy a night-off cocktails, and are craving a great British boozer, then head to The Lord Clifden for ale, scampi fries and good ol’ pub grub.

From the outside, the pub might not look like much – walk through the door though, and you’re faced with a corridor lined with glowing reviews. There are Banksy prints on the walls, an enormous beer garden at the back, and a handsome bar straddling two rooms.

The decor is immaculate: think beautiful wood panelling, open brick walls, and a lovely rustic feeling. There’s also darts, table football and all-weather table tennis out back – we imagine The Lord Clifden stays open so late because it’s so hard kicking the punters out.

As you’d expect, there’s a great selection of ales. If you fancy bedding in for the night though, we recommend you try some of the food such as the Banksy burger or haddock gujons – even the £5 ‘smaller plates’ are a veritable feast. This is the kind of pub that we wish we had at the end of our road.
