Review

If you're staying in the centre of town, with great places to eat and drink on your doorstop then the 20 minute plus cab ride out to Expatriate may seem a tad unnecessary but great cocktails, food and music await.

Expatriate is owned by Kyle Linden Webster and his wife Naomi Pomeroy, the multi award winning chef who's Beast restaurant directly opposite Expatriate is worthy of an around the world trip, let alone a journey Concordia. However, if you've failed to book a table at Beast, no matter, as the food at Expatriate is equally fabulous. And the Shrimp Toast is a delicacy not to be missed.

An Asian influenced temple of a back bar with gold dragoons encircling shelves loaded with well-selected high-end spirits and liqueurs dominates the small atmospherically lit room. Dual DJ decks at the end the bar with racks of LPs behind hint as to how seriously the play list is taken here with bartenders queuing up tracts between making great drinks.
