Offering classic cocktails, signature creations and small plates, Clover Club in Brooklyn is as much a neighbourhood institution as it is an international destination cocktail bar, a must-try if you've not already experienced one.
Review
The bar's name references an infamous Philadelphia literary hangout of the 1920s, and among the well-executed cocktails, you'll find the house-made Clover Club Cocktail.
Its main feature, the imposing 19th-century wooden bar, was rescued from a former dance hall in a small mining town in Pennsylvania. Panelled walls, a tin ceiling, and Victorian fittings create a sympathetic and homely backdrop. There's also a curtained-off 'parlour' out the back with an open fire and heavy Victorian furniture - this is often used as a private events space.
