Review

With its bare wooden tables, and painted wooden plank walls, this corner pub has something of a country pub feel to it. Out back, a conservatory-like dining room boasts an open fire place for wintery nights and powerful air-conditioning for summer days when the sun shines through the glass roof. Summer also sees the tables which spill out on the pavement well used with heaters and an awning prolonging their use.

Part of the Three Cheers Pub Company, the food served here is of a good, but not great standard. The child's menu and The Bolingbroke's location in what is dubbed 'nappy valley' should serve as a warning to those who seek a quiet meal or drink, uninterrupted by crying/loud children.

Incidentally, the pub takes its name from Henry St. John, 1st Viscount Bolingbroke, the politician renowned for his hard drinking who spent his early and latter years in Battersea.

Two cask ales (such as Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Sambrook's Wandle) and a fair range of lagers or offered alongside a decent wine list with 20 wines by the glass.
