Rye isn't the kind of place to have a quiet catch-up with friends, but it is is a great place to have fun. It's a stark, factory-like space with a vast outside smoking area, steel girders and a concrete floor. You get the feeling that the utilitarian-feel is deliberate, so that Rye can be easily wiped down after a big night.

A blackboard behind the bar displays the 'cocktail of the month', and a well-put-together menu ranges from your standard pisco punch to more unusual concoctions including A Woman Scorned, mixing rum, port, house-made Swedish Punsch, lime and pomegranate bitters. There is also a good selection of beers and wine by the glass.
