Review

Amongst the hip bars of the Finnieston strip lies the Ben Nevis. Cocktails are not on the agenda here. An-out-and-out a beer-and-whisky bar - what's known locally as a 'half 'n' half' bar.

Ben Nevis may look like an old boozer from outside. However, within you'll find a most eclectic place with the interior inspired by and built using natural materials from the Highlands, including bare stone, stacked slate and wood with bronze paint.

Elaine Scott has been the landlady of the Ben Nevis for over 13 years and her stewardship has made this something of a local landmark.

You'll find in excess of 130 single malts and an eclectic range of bottles and draught beers with local beer offerings both cask, keg and bottle rightly predominating. Food is also available but while good does not enjoy the same reputation as the excellent folk bands which regularly play here.
