Tucked away on rue Saint-Sébastien in Paris's 11th arrondissement, Madame Simone is an intimate cocktail bar where jazz, soul and thoughtfully crafted drinks share the spotlight. Named in tribute to the legendary Nina Simone, the bar draws inspiration from her music, with a piano taking centre stage in the Art Deco-inspired interior.
The musical influence extends to the cocktail menu, with several signature serves named after songs associated with Nina Simone. Mister Bojangles combines gin, Verveine du Velay, lemon and cucumber syrup, while Sinnerman brings together bourbon, amaretto, lemon, egg white and Angostura bitters. For something more adventurous, Proud Mary mixes rosemary-infused rum with agave, Fernet-Branca and crème de cassis, while Mississippi Goddam pairs tequila with chestnut cream and homemade chilli syrup.
Those preferring a familiar favourite will find classics such as the Last Word, Vesper and Pisco Sour, alongside a selection of natural wines.
Music is integral to the Madame Simone experience, with live jazz and soul performances, open mic nights and vinyl DJ sets.
Small sharing plates complete the offering.
