The street runs right past the door of Delachaise, appropriately the building that this wine and beer bar occupies is little bigger and resembles the shape of a railway carriage.

Despite being sat alongside a gas station the shade of overhanging trees makes Delachaise's front terrace an appealing place to sit and watch Saint Charles Street pass by. The fairy lights strung inside and around the trees outside add to Delachaise's quaintness.

Delachaise has something of a reputation for its well-priced wine list which offers over 40 wines by the glass. The beer selection is also none too shabby with some 30 bottled beers and the likes of Chimay on draught.

With dishes ranging from frogs legs, Shrimp Clemenceau (Louisiana jumbo shrimp in a golden Thai curry) and specials such as lamb burger, Delachaise is also a good bet for a bite and one to consider if venturing out of the Quarter.
