On the same road from The Engineer, the Lansdowne is a modern, stripped back neighbourhood pub. The large main room is filled with plenty of wooden tables, a smattering of modern art and blackboards on the walls that spell out the food and drink. Upstairs there's another dining room, also used for live jazz performances, and outdoor terrace. It's busy, the staff are chatty and there's a relaxed vibe among the locals - a fair number of yummy mummies and City workers.
The modern European menu has an Italian bent and in general the food is pretty special, in particular the pizzas. There's a decent selection of New and Old World wine, there are a couple of brews on tap and a small spirits selection, but no cocktails
