Barcelona has more than its fair share of classically styled cocktail bars but it also boasts some contemporary takes on the theme. This is a fine example.

Opened in 2007, this is a very designer venue. Crystal laced globe lamps hang from a peg board black ceiling impregnated with an arc of lilac light.

Black and grey Stark-esc modernity continues down the stairs to the basement restaurant which come midnight sees the tables pushed back, the DJ spring to life and Valuart morphs into a club until the early hours.

Giuseppe very ably looks after all things alcoholic. He makes great drinks and is the typical Italian - surrounded by attractive girls. Say hello.
