Review

This unpretentious bar's name translates from Dutch as 'Wine Bar Lundgren Square' but lies just off Vesterbro Square. It offers a good range of wines with around 30 available by the glass, and some tasty snacks.

Climb the steep steps to the door and beyond lies a simply decorated two-tone room with a black and white chequerboard floor. This houses an old leather sofa and chairs, and the cluttered bar counter with the wines available chalked up behind. A second larger room is warmer in feel with a bare wooden floor and flickering candles on wooden tables.

Grab a serious bottle of wine to wash down one of the fish, meat or cheese platters, or if you're undecided go for a mixed platter. Rather than share a platter, order one each and they will then keep topping it up for free. Much more satisfying than the bottomless cola or coffee. As well as a well-chosen wine selection they also have three beers on draught and a serious espresso machine.

This slightly shabby local's wine bar is far from being one of Copenhagen's must experience bars but its very welcoming and is friendly staff are sure to recommend a wine that will appeal to your tastes.
