About

Scarfes Bar is luxurious, with comfy velvet sofas, an open fire, and antique books, creating a space reminiscent of a drawing room. It offers inventive cocktails and live music six nights a week.

Scarfes Bar is the Rosewood hotel's main bar, located to the right as you walk under the arch into the courtyard entrance. It's been decorated to resemble a plush drawing room with an open log fire, rich mahoganies, lampshades, and bookshelves lined with leather-bound tomes behind low-slung couches.

Named after Gerald Scarfe, a renowned British artist and caricaturist, the bar's walls feature his work, which adds colour and tongue-in-cheek studious humour.

Despite the decor, Scarfes isn't a bar to whisper in, and groups of friends can be seen crowded around the fireplace sharing cocktails. The bar counter is the dominating feature, with plush blue stools to perch in while perusing the impressive back bar, filled with gins, rums and vodkas. Whiskey receives its own special cabinet with space dedicated to Japanese, American and Scotch single malts and blends.

The ever-changing and seemingly continuously more brilliant menu boasts a strong list of signature cocktails but the able bar team are also well versed in classic cocktails and we've found drinks to be consistently great. The bar food here is equally tasty.
