Set in Milan's evolving Certosa District, Nomad Restaurant is more than a place to eat. The restaurant, cocktail bar, and nightlife destination share the same address on Via Varesina, letting an evening flow from dinner to drinks and, later, dancing without the usual change of venue.
The project comes from the team behind Milan's long-established Hollywood nightclub and brings that nightlife experience into a contemporary restaurant setting. Chef Francesco Guarino leads the kitchen, with an Italian menu that moves comfortably between raw seafood, pasta and risotto, fish and meat dishes.
The surroundings have an intentionally fashionable, industrial-meets-lush feel, appropriate to Nomad's location in the regenerated Certosa neighbourhood. Cocktails form an important part of the proposition rather than an afterthought, with the bar helping bridge the gap between restaurant and club.
Later in the evening, the focus shifts to music and Nomad Club. The restaurant's polished dinner atmosphere gives way to DJ-led nightlife, making Nomad particularly suited to those looking to settle in for an entire evening rather than simply stop for dinner or a cocktail.
