Third Floor Social

The concept is the brainchild of Singapore-born bartender and designer Juan Yi Jun, whose impressive CV includes stints at Tippling Club and Operation Dagger before she co-founded No Sleep Club.

For Jun, Third Floor is something of a homecoming. Growing up in Singapore during the 1990s and early 2000s, she remembers Orchard Road as a place where groups of friends would congregate, claiming particular corners and meeting spots as their own. These informal gathering places inspired Third Floor, which she hopes will become somewhere regulars feel equally at home.

The space reflects this philosophy. Comfortable, living-room-style furnishings, an open kitchen and bar, and views over Orchard Road create an inviting setting that works as well for a morning coffee or leisurely lunch as it does for cocktails later in the day. Wine, beer, food and music are all part of the offering, making Third Floor somewhere to linger rather than simply drop in for a drink.

While the atmosphere is deliberately relaxed, considerable thought and technical skill go into the cocktails. Jun draws inspiration from everyday drinking habits, nostalgic flavours and familiar combinations, often using sophisticated techniques to give seemingly simple drinks an unexpected twist.
