This is the sixth limited release of unpeated Caol Ila, the second at twelve-years-old. Only one batch per year of unpeated malt for blending in the "highland-style" is produced and this particular 1999 batch was aged in first fill ex-bourbon American Oak casks.

Released in 2011 and bottled at natural cask strength, fewer than 6,000 bottles were made available worldwide.

Appearance:

Clear yellow gold.

Aroma:

Cream of soda vanilla and lemon meringue pie nose with buttery macadamia nuts in wood chips with a note of old-fashioned oil paint.

Taste:

Dry, lightly spicy palate with lemon curd on buttered well-done toast.

Aftertaste:

Medium length spiced finish.
