Royal Legacy of 1745 celebrates the centenary of the first commercial bottling of Drambuie in Edinburgh in 1909. It is presented in an embossed decanter topped by a weighty cork stopper and each decanter's presentation box carries the bottling date, bottle number and signature of Drambuie's Blender.
Launched in October 2009 at the Travel Retail exhibition in Cannes this travel retail exclusive is billed as being the "world's finest cask infused malt whisky liqueur" and while it is a bold claim, we'd not argue.

Clear, bright golden.
Soft spice with wafts of citrus, vanilla, saffron and lightly oaked malty whisky and chamois leather oilyness.
Far drier and more complex than regular Drambuie with the whisky far more pronounced. The same recognisable flavour profile remains with oranges, cloves, honey, linseed, fennel seed, angelica, bitter almonds, vanilla, citrus freshness, fruitcake and raisiny notes only even more complex.
Long warming, smooth finish lingers with spice giving way to honey and then malty, oily, citrus zest notes.
